Who We Are
Redeemer is a growing church in Louisville and part of the Presbyterian Church in America. We exist to glorify God by enjoying him together. We share that joy with one another in our church community, our city, and our world. We seek to be gospel-centered and historically rooted.
FRITZ GAMES, SENIOR PASTOR
Fritz and his wife Aimee began at Redeemer in the summer of 2016. Fritz has always said he’d like to pastor a church he’d love to be a part of, and he has found it in Redeemer. He and Aimee have been married for almost 30 years and have five children ages 19-28 and one granddaughter due Fall 2022. Fritz grew up in the church, ran from God and the church, and God ran him down while in college. He cut his teeth in ministry in the Mississippi Delta doing youth work, attended Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS, then launched chapters of the PCA. college ministry R.U.F. at Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky University. While in Bowling Green he had the privilege of helping his best friend plant Grace and Peace Presbyterian. He likes to think he’s a decent mountain biker but thankfully finds his true identity in Christ!
MURRAY NICKEL, ASSISTANT PASTOR
Murray and his wife Addie were excited to join Redeemer in 2020! They met at Covenant Seminary in Saint Louis, MO, where Murray studied for his Masters of Divinity and Addie studied for her Masters in Counseling. While they don't have children yet, they do have an orange Tabby named Hogarth who considers himself their child. The Lord began faithfully and very patiently growing Murray's heart for ministry way back in High School, though Murray fought God's call all the way through college. After college he worked in residential care and youth ministry contexts, before the Lord opened the door to seminary and pushed Murray through. He has a heart to see not only the lives of students, but also the lives of entire families changed by the good news of the Gospel of Jesus, and to see those who were far off welcomed into the family of God. After Jesus and his family, He loves Husker football, the outdoors, and his favorite pair of Chacos.
TONY LOMBARDO, PASTORAL INTERN AND FACILITY MANAGER
Tony joined the Redeemer staff in 2023 after retiring from the U.S. Army. He serves as a pastoral intern and is under the care of the Ohio Valley Presbytery. He oversees facilities and grounds maintenance/repairs and also serves the staff, students, and families of Zion Christian Preschool. Tony holds a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University and is currently an MDiv student at Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando. Tony and his wife Elisa have one daughter, Alexandra.
DALLAS STEIDEN, WORSHIP LEADER
Dallas has been leading worship for over half of his life, and considers it an honor to aid others in connecting with the Lord through the beauty of music. He and his wife Shanna had been leading worship at Zion Church for two years when Zion and Redeemer began holding joint services. In his free time, you’re most likely to find him soaking up every second with his three sons, playing music, or reading.
SHANNA STEIDEN, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Shanna joined the staff at Redeemer in 2018 and became a member of the congregation in 2020. She and Dallas were married in 2006; they have four children, Bridger, Freeland, Rainer, and Vesper. Shanna is overjoyed to see the ways that the Lord is working in the church, and feels humbled by the responsibilities entrusted to her.
JASON MIER, ELDER
Jason is married to Betsy and they are blessed with four children: Nick, Addison, Rebecca and Emma. They moved from Niceville, FL and joined Redeemer in 2018. They were drawn to Redeemer’s doctrine and enjoy the preaching and fellowship. Jason joined the diaconate in 2020 and then the session in 2022. God used a Sunday school teacher to proclaim the Gospel to him at a young age. From then on, God has graciously used Jason’s family, friends, time in the Air Force and the church to grow his faith. Jason enjoys playing sports, exercising and spending time with his family.
MATT GRIFFITHS, ELDER
Matt Griffiths and his family moved to Louisville in the summer of 2016 as part of a job relocation. Redeemer welcomed them with open arms and provided the support and fellowship that the family so desperately needed during that time of transition. Matt and his wife, Kate, delight to show hospitality to others and have both been involved in children's ministry, men's and women's ministries, and the small group ministry of Redeemer.
BRIAN CLARK, ELDER
Brian Clark has been involved with Redeemer Church since its beginning in 2004 and is very thankful for this family of faith. He was raised in a mainline denomination, discovered the Reformed faith while in college and eventually got involved in a PCA congregation. Brian has served as a deacon in several churches since and now as an elder at Redeemer. He has learned (and continues to learn!) that God's grace and mercy are more than sufficient for us, whatever challenges and trials we face in the Christian life. Brian has a grown son, works vocationally in the conservation field, and enjoys participating and mentoring in outdoor activities, in addition to serving in the local church.
DAVID KNOPF, DEACON
David and his wife Beth have been attending Redeemer since late 2015. Originally from Michigan, he has lived in several states before relocating to Louisville in 2013. David and Beth have four grown children and two still living at home, Naomi and Josiah. Outside of working for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, David enjoys gardening, running and photography.

TAYLOR WEATHERFORD, DEACON
Taylor joined Redeemer along with his wife Millie when they moved to the Louisville area in 2015. He has been blessed by the warm hospitality, meaningful fellowship and sound Biblical teaching at Redeemer ever since. He and Millie have three young children; Clay, Lucy and Jenna. He enjoys his work in Louisville as a mechanical engineer and in spare time enjoys the great outdoors, wrenching on vehicles, and working and living on a beef cattle and hay farm near Bardstown.
MATTHEW BENOIT, DEACON
Matthew has been a member of Redeemer since 2012 and has been serving as a Deacon and the Men’s Ministry Coordinator since 2019. Matthew loves the Lord with all his being and is humbled to be called a servant of Christ. He is originally from Eastern North Carolina and loves to spend time in the Carolina coasts and mountains whenever he can, reflecting on the beauty of the Lord that he's revealed in creation. The thing that drew Matthew to Redeemer was the faithful witness to Christ and enduring friendship that her members showed, being both intentionally relational and radically hospitable at every turn. You may find Matthew helping to lead musical worship on occasion, or anywhere there’s a coffee pot. Matthew loves to run the trails around Kentucky and will almost always take you up on an offer to lace up.
BROOKS FOWLER, DEACON
Brooks moved to Louisville in 2011 from New Orleans after graduating with a Master's in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University. Not being from Louisville, Redeemer played a big part being his family away from home. He and his wife, Lindsay, were married in 2013 and have three mostly wonderful kids, Tate, June, and Forest. The Fowlers love to cook, play outside, work on the house, and enjoy the company of others. We have been so very blessed by the Lord and Redeemer and look forward to what He has for us next.

ELIZABETH BENEDICT, Women’s ministry coordinator
Elizabeth joined Redeemer in 2007 during graduate school and has considered its members as extended family ever since. It has been beautiful to see the Lord's hand at work in and through the people of Redeemer over the years. While originally from the mountains of southwest Virginia, she now considers Louisville home. Elizabeth is thankful for the opportunity to serve the women of Redeemer and the surrounding community and grow in the Lord alongside them through fellowship, Bible study, prayer, and conversations on walks or over a cup of coffee.
